Circus Skills Workshops for Children

Our circus skills workshops for schools help teach younger children (Key stage 1 and 2) the fundamental skills of movement, co-ordination and balance. Build self-confidence whilst having fun and learning to trust your team-mates!

By using a variety of circus equipment, the children learn fun ways to improve their physical abilities and develop their health and fitness. Developing mutual trust and self-esteem can also improve children’s mental health; fostering acceptance of all our differences and celebrating abilities.

Our trainers are professional entertainers and performers, so they make all the kids’ circus lessons fun and engaging. Experts at breaking down each of the circus skills and tricks into manageable bite-sized steps, we help each child to achieve and build confidence as they progress through the equipment. We’ve developed and honed our teaching methods over decades, so you can trust us to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Travelling Workshops for Infant, Junior & Primary Schools

Our circus skills workshop is developed for children in Years 1 to 6 (aged 4 to 11 years) and travels direct to your school. We cover primary schools in West Sussex, East Sussex, London, Bedford and the Home Counties – and we provide all equipment.

Educational Benefits of Circus Arts

Circus classes and circus workshops are perfect for:

Cognitive benefits

Helping children with concentration

Circus skills demand concentration and attention. If the kids are engaged and having fun, they sharpen their focus without too much effort.

Confidence

Building confidence in children

Whether walking the tightrope, juggling scarves or throwing and catching a flower stick… it takes confidence to try, make mistakes and keep refining the process until they improve.

Listening skills

Increasing children’s learning styles

We encourage visual, aural, physical, spatial, interpersonal and solitary styles of learning.

Imagination and creativity

Nurturing children’s creativity and imagination

Through performance, expression with play and vivid colour, we can ignite their imagination and fuel their desire to create their own routines.

Body orientation

Improving children’s physical and body awareness

Understanding how their body moves, feels and fits into different spaces, allows children to interact with others and their environment in new and exciting ways.

Team activity

Teaching children to appreciate the arts

Circus arts can teach the chidren to be open-minded, expressive, curious and more confident to take risks.

Workshops for Schools

We’re adept at tailoring the workshop to a variety of arts and fitness topics your school may be studying, for example:

  • fitness weeks
  • circus topic
  • healthy eating

Being performers, as well as teachers, these values are essential to our ability to perform consistently and with vigour.  Your tutor can engage in question and answer sessions with the pupils as part of your topic.

Testimonials

Primary school circus workshop, Bruton

"I can thoroughly recommend this company - worth every penny. Nikki came to deliver a series of workshops on our 'moving up' day and it was such a great way to integrate new pupils whilst learning new skills. She explained the physics behind the tricks and was entirely positive and encouraging. it was a long and physical day for her and she seemed just as fresh and enthusiastic at 3:30 as she was at 9am! Her classroom management was spot on."

Primary school circus workshop, Evesham

We booked the Workshop Company for a day and half at our school in Worcestershire. The whole process from booking to the running of the day was so easy and efficient. Nikki was a superb tutor and her organisation, discipline and overall teaching skills were fabulous. The children had a great time and most importantly all children were able to be successful at something. We would definitely recommend and will book Nikki and her team again.

Infant School Circus Workshop, London

“I wanted to thank you for coming to Queenswell, the children and staff had such fun in their sessions. I asked the teachers to get some feedback from the children and for their feedback as well so I thought you may like to hear their comments as it was all extremely positive.”
